The final Cro down

13 March 2025

In a hop skip and a jump it’ll be the Easter break and what better way to kick off Spring than with your favourite music festival, Cro Cro Land. We are bringing you a stellar line-up of some of the most exciting and talked about bands in the UK.

We featured some of the names a few weeks ago, but we’ve since added more to the bill so here’s the lowdown as well as a reminder of the full line-up to date.

New additions…

Goat Girl

This band has had an impressive career filled with bold, genre-defying music and a strong DIY spirit. Their debut album was released in 2018 on Rough Trade Records, a legendary label known for signing groundbreaking artists with their second album landing in 2021, and their third 2024. They’ve supported artist such as Foals, Shame and Parquet Courts and been featured in major publications such as NME, The Guardian, and Pitchfork, to name but a few. Enough of the name dropping though – their music is a unique blend of post-punk grit, psychedelia with electronic vibes. A must see at Cro Cro Land for sure.

Big Joanie

The band was first founded in 2013 to carve out a space for black women in punk, blending riot grrrl energy with a mix of post punk and indie influences. Their debut album, released on Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore’s label, Daydream Library Series was widely praised for its powerful feminist themes, lofi aesthetics and socially conscious lyrics. The band have opened for Bikini Kill, Sleater Kinney, Idles, performed at Glastonbury, SXSW and Latitude and continue to punch through in an industry that doesn’t make it easy.

Benefits

Teesside-based noise-punk band Benefits have been absolutely smashing it. They started as a DIY project with no label, no management or press team but quickly gained attention for their raw, politically charged music. A real turning point for the band was when Geoff Barrow of Portishead became a fan and signed them to his label Invada Records leading to their 2023 debut album release, NAILS. Their sound further developed from traditional punk to aggressive, electronic influenced sounds but still retaining their outspoken and DIY ethics.

ARXX

Does this name ring a bell? Thought so, they played year 1 of Cro Cro Land back in 2019 on our smaller stage as a new artist. Fast forward to today and this band has gone on to do incredible things. They’ve played pretty much every festival I can think of. Adored by national radio such as BBC Introducing but also by a large set of hardcore fans. And who can blame them? ARXX have developed their sound to glittering guitar pop levels with hooks both vocal and musical that’ll stay with you always. Songs to be sung by crowds at stadiums is a future that is theirs for the taking. Their live career is impressive to say the least with support slots with Yungblood, Fletcher, Dream Wife and Petrol Girls. See them at Cro Cro Land while you can!

Grandmas House

Bristol’s powerhouse punk trio are set to bring their raw energy to Cro Cro Land. We tried to book them for last year’s event, but alas it wasn’t to be, so we’re dead chuffed to have them this year. Since forming in 2018 the band have carved a name for themselves with their ferocious punk sound and commanding live performances.  Known for their politically charged anthems and DIY ethos, Grandmas House have become one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the Bristol scene in recent years.

Scrounge

South London duo Scrounge are coming to Cro Cro Land and we really can’t wait. Great energy, political, fun; it’s noise rock at its finest. The band’s full length debut album is due to land this year and showcases their passion for social justice, economic equality, and collective change. Expect a stripped back but high-energy show from this pair that’ll have you bouncing in the crowd alongside their die hard fans. Scrounge are our ones to watch for this year and next. Much like Nova Twins who played for us in 2019, Scrounge are headed for big things.
